30in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels (in 2014, partially stuck off), rib engraved 'JOHN RIGBY & CO. DUBLIN & LONDON', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, left wall thickness below recommended minimum, Jones patent rotary-underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding sidelocks with plain hammers (possible replacements), triggerguard scrolled to form a skeletal pistolgrip, bold acanthus scroll engraving with feathered bordering, 14 1/2in. well-figured stock (cracked at hand) including steel buttplate, fore-end with some damage, weight 7lb. 1oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed in 1869 with 30in. barrels for F. Weber.
