built to Tranters Patent circa 1900, with octagonal 26in. barrel re-tubed in antiquity from .297-250, the matted top-flat signed 'JOHN MACPHERSON, 24 CHURCH ST. INVERNESS', dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, border and scroll engraved central hammer action with side-lever opening, chequered walnut pistol-grip butt-stock, horn grip-cap, chequered splinter fore-end with horn tip, slight traces of finish
