A SCARCE 80-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-ACTION SIX-SHOT TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER, no visible serial number,
circa 1840, with octagonal 3 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'HARKOM, EDINBURGH', engraved band at the muzzle, scroll engraved panel at the breech-end, small nickel bead fore-sight, fully-fluted cylinder with engraved band en-suite with the muzzle to the front edge, the chambers numbered '1' through '6', scroll engraved open frame and nipple-shield, rounded scroll-engraved boxlock action, the central hammer scroll engraved and cut with a rear-sight slot, finely chequered walnut grips with scroll-engraved straps, rounded iron butt with central trapdoor for caps, scroll engraved spurred trigger-guard and sprung plunger-style loading rod forwards of the take-down wedge, small traces of of original finish
