circa 1855, with re-browned twist-iron 28 1/2in. barrels (makers details erased on the rib), platinum line and vents at breech. scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS; scroll engraved slab-side hammers, walnut straight-hand half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate with long top-spur, iron furniture, white-metal oval take-down wedge escutcheons and original ramrod (stock broken through forward of locks and repaired in antiquity) TOGETHER WITH a period brass mounted oak storage case with re-applied original Westley Richards parchment trade-label, compartmented and lined in green baize (some renewals, alterations and repairs) and complete with a leather covered powder-flask and a coarse felt shot-flask plus other sundry accessories
