circa 1800, with 25 3/4in. twist iron barrels (muzzles frayed and dented), the top-rib signed in gold 'RIVIERE LONDON', silver fore-sight, starburst engraved to the rib-end at breech, twin platinum lines and touch-holes, fully engraved top-tang with sunken sighting channel, flat curved bevel-edged border engraved lockplates signed 'RIVIERE', stepped pointed tails, rain-proof pans, border engraved frizzens with roller-bearing springs, both hammers and one tumbler missing, possible other internal faults, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, (broken through at hand and repaired with a plate), iron furniture, carved pineapple finial and provision for ramrod (missing), lightly distressed throughout
