for 1882, with tapering round 2 1/4in. barrel, crescent fore-sight, the top of barrel signed on two lines 'COLTS PT. FA. MFG. CO, HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.' with an etched panel on the left hand side with 'COLT NEW .32', the top-strap engraved 'H. FAURE LE PAGE A PARIS', solid frame with loading cut-out on the right, chequered hard-rubber birdshead grips embossed 'COLT', blued hammer with polished sides and sheath trigger, the whole retaining a good amount of original plated finish
