for 1887, with 29 7/8in. round barrel, the top of barrel signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO, NEW HAVEN CONN', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight with additional standing notch, falling block receiver with central hammer, the top-tang drilled for peep-sight, the tapped hole with keeper screw, no model designation, straight-hand walnut butt-stock, iron 'shotgun' butt-plate and walnut splinter fore-end with horn inlay at the schnabel tip
