28in. sleeved steel to damascus barrels (loose on action No.1), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, fluted fences, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, fine acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish overall, 15 1/4in. pistolgrip stocks (No.1 a replacement) with steel pistolgrip-caps and including in. rubber recoil pads, crack to fore-end wood (No.1) and insert repair to fore-end wood (No.2), weight 7lb. 1oz. (No.1) and 7lb. 6oz. (No.2)
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were completed with 30in. barrels in 1892 for Capt. Best R.N.
