AN ORIGINAL FRAMED WATERCOLOUR ENTITLED 'THE FAMOUS GROUSE',
dated to 1988 and measuring 17in. x 15in. overall, depicting two Red Grouse in young heather cover, single-mounted and in a gilt frame

Provenance: Stanley Todd (1923 - 2004) grew up in Northumberland with ambitions to be a wildlife artist from a young age and was heavily influenced by the work of Archibald Thorburn.

Todd received many commissions from the Scottish distillery, Matthew Gloag & Sons and much of his career was devoted to painting grouse for them
