A .577-450 (M/H) SINGLE-SHOT SERVICE RIFLE, MODEL 'MKII', serial no. 1650
dated for 1874, with 33in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the breech-end of barrel stamped 'B.S.A.CO' with the serial number, plain receiver stamped with a crown over 'V.R.', over 'ENFIELD 1874' over 'II', tear-drop shaped cocking indicator, walnut straight-hand butt-stock stamped with 'ENFIELD' within a circle surrounding a broad arrow and 'W.D.', iron heel-pate, short under-lever, three-quarter length walnut fore-end, two iron barrel-bands and iron under-barrel clearing rod.
