Swiss, probably circa 1860 but possibly earlier, with heavy 26in. iron prod retaining its original multi-strand string, iron front-plate with integral offset fore-sight, large eyelet for cocking stirrup, substantial walnut full-stock, the top re-inforced with iron, brass edged to the bolt-guide, hook-type trigger-mechanism, fully adjustable rear-sight, plain pistol-grip, heavy hooked iron heel-plate and spurred trigger-guard bow (age split to fore-end wood)
