A 12-BORE 'GRADE F.35 FAR KILLER' FACILE-PRINCEPS NON-EJECTOR WILDFOWLING GUN, serial no. 68913,
30in. nitro barrels with matt rib engraved with a mallard alighting at the breech end, the tubes engraved 'W.W. GREENER. MAKER. 40. PALL MALL. LONDON. S.W. SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL.', bored approx. 1/2 and full choke, treble-grip action with bolsters, manual safety, beaded border engraving surrounding scenes of waterfowl in flight over their naturalistic habitat, retaining some original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. figured stock (well repaired crack at hand), weight 8lb.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed with 30in. barrels in February 1931 for a Mr. Townlee.
