28 1/4in. nitro barrel with octagonal breech section, the tube engraved 'SHOT AND REGULATED BY J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke, action with carved teardrop fences, removable striker disc, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright and blued finish, 14 1/2in. figured stock including 2in. wooden extension, fore-end with push button release and horn finial, weight 5lb. 6oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed in 1915 for the Hon. M. Coke.
