A CASED 38-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL '1851', serial no. 4158R,
circa 1852, with octagonal 7 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat and strap signed 'DEANE ADAMS & DEANE (MAKERS TO HRH PRINCE ALBERT), 30 KING WILLIAM ST, LONDON BRIDGE', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the back of top-strap, scroll engraving to the breech throat, plain cylinder, solid border and scroll engraved frame with spur-less hammer, finely chequered one-piece walnut grip with swollen pommel, iron butt-cap with engraved central cap-box and scroll engraved trigger-guard bow, the frame having traces of finish (now faded), some mild pitting to cylinder TOGETHER WITH its original manufacturers oak storage case, compartmented and relined in green baize, and containing an original brass Adam's patent bullet mould, a cleaning rod, oil bottle, turnscrew, nipple key and cap tin, the lid with parchment 'Deane and Son' trade label.
