third model circa 1854, with blued octagonal 7in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'BLAKEMORE & SON', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the hammer-nose, borderline and scroll engraved open frame, the left hand side with a banner in the engraving inscribed 'WEBLEY'S PATENT', plain borderline engraved cylinder, colour-hardened scroll engraved long-spurred hammer, chequered walnut grips, the backstrap marked with the serial number and 'BY HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL LETTERS PATENT' iron scroll engraved butt-cap and trigger-guard bow, take down nut to front of frame and hinged articulated polished rammer mounted to left hand side of barrel, fair traces of original finish and colour TOGETHER WITH its English market oak storage case, compartmented and lined in blue baize and complete with a bag-shaped copper flask, a nickel oil bottle and a War Department marked brass bullet mould
