circa 1850, with detachable 27 1/2in. iron barrel, traces of original paint in imitation of bamboo, cylindrical under-hammer action with concealed trigger, walnut hooked grip with engraved iron mounts, applied brass plaque to the underside marked 'DAY'S PATENT' in raised letters
