circa 1855, with 33in. barrel, the top signed 'WHITWORTH'S PATENT', dove-tailed block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight graduated to 1200 yds., plain military-style lock signed 'MANCHESTER RIFLE ORDNANCE CO' together with the Whitworth trademark stamped to tail, chequered walnut three-quarter stock, iron furniture, the trigger-guard tang marked '2ND QUALITY', two iron barrel-bands, nose cap and under-barrel ramrod, dirty with traces of original finish throughout
