circa 1770, with turn-off 4 3/4in. cannon barrel, straight scratch rifling, squared boxlock central-hammer action (top-jaw and screw missing), all steel swollen butt with socket to turn-off a matching pistol, traces of engraving, sliding trigger-guard bow, the whole darkly stained with some surface corrosion
