for 1971, with blued 26in. round barrel, the right hand side of breech marked 'NRA CENTENNIAL MUSKET', dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, blued receiver engraved on the left hand side '1871 NRA 1971' together with some borders and open scrolls, the right hand side engraved with sparse open scrolls, central hammer, the top-tang marked 'MODEL 1894 WINCHESTER', walnut straight-hand butt-stock with iron 'carbine' heel-plate, the right hand side inlet with a brass-finish commemorative medallion, plain walnut full-length fore-end with iron nose-cap and barrel-band concealing the full-length under-barrel magazine, some storage corrosion otherwise appearing little used
