circa 1900, with 26in. tapering octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND, 98 NEW BOND ST. LONDON' and 'WINNERS OF ALL THE FIELD RIFLE TRIALS', dovetailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, plain receiver with side-lever opening and central hammer, walnut straight-hand stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate, chequered splinter Hackett patent snap fore-end, the whole re-finished with some traces of pitting TOGETHER WITH a leather storage case, compartmented and lined in green baize with a reproduction 'Holland & Holland' trade label to inside of lid
