(72cm) nitro barrels with 6mm ventilated matt top-rib, carved and white metal-inlaid with scrollwork at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, hold-open toplever, automatic safety, gold-washed triggers, the action engraved with fine floral and acanthus scrollwork on a stippled background and surrounding game scene vignettes of mallard and capercaillie, the underside with a howling wolf, the triggerguard with a squirrel, the triggerplate signed by the engraver, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with sculpted cheekpiece and hogsback comb, the pistolgrip, butt and semi-beavertail fore-end carved in relief with flowing acanthus designs, slight movement to stock, weight 7lb. 10oz.
