30in. nitro Whitworth steel chopperlump barrels with matt rib gold-inlaid '1', the tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. MADE FOR EDUARDO SCHILLING. BARCELONA.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 and full choke, self-opening side-clipped treble-grip action with hidden third bite, removable striker discs, the toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, articulated front trigger, fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. figured stock (possibly replacement) with escutcheon removed and filled, gold-inlaid with the initials 'RPC', including 3/4in. extension, the fore-end gold-inlaid '1', weight 7lb. 11oz., in a brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed with 30in. barrels in 1920 for E. Schilling.
