Other Notes: A report on this rifle, carried out by Donald J Custerson (Gun & Rifle maker) reads as follows:
I have examined the .600 barrelled action which bears proof marks for 1993. The barrels are stamped W.B. which was Bill Blacker's mark in the early nineties. On speaking to Bill, he confirmed that he had made barrels for two .600s at that time and that Mark Sullivan had made the rest of the rifles. This was subsequently confirmed by Mark.
I am familiar with the work of both of these craftsmen who are very well respected in the trade. From careful examination of this barrelled action, I consider it to be typical of their work. The quality and fit are to the best English standards. The style is similar to a Holland & Holland with back action sidelocks and well struck up and smoothed barrels. It will make up into a first rate rifle.
I estimate the cost of completing the rifle to best standards including stocking, building up, regulating and finishing (not including stock blank or engraving) to be approximately £15,000 + VAT
