circa 1860, with 30in. twist iron barrels, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH EGG INVENTOR OF COPPER CAPS, NO1 PICCADILLY LONDON', bead fore-sight, floral engraving to rib at breech, elongated top-tang with shell and scroll engraving featuring a circular panel engraved with a dog's head, engraved platinum vented plugs, border, scroll and game scene engraved isolated radiused back-action locks signed 'JOSEPH EGG' in a crescent behind the scroll engraved hammers, figured walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron scroll engraved furniture including heel-plate with stepped top-spur, integral trigger-plate and tang with applied trigger-guard bow, pineapple finial, white metal oval take-down wedge escutcheons and dumbell-shaped white metal plate inlet to underside of fore-end disguising an old working repair, engraved ramrod throat, iron under-barrel thimble (one absent) and original brass mounted worm-ended ramrod
