for 1943, with 5in. barrel, phosphated slide with patent dates to 1913 and makers details on the left hand side, phosphated frame, the right hand side marked 'UNITED STATES PROPERTY' together with 'M1911A1 US ARMY' and the 'G.H.D.' inspectors stamp, arched mainspring housing, grip safety, brown plastic chequered grips, one amateurly initialled 'JAS', chequered trigger, much original wartime finish remaining, COMPLETE WITH a period US aircrew shoulder-holster dated 1944
