A SCARCE TRANSIT BOXED .45(ACP) FULLY-AUTOMATIC SUB-MACHINEGUN, MODEL 'THOMPSON M1928', serial no. S/2099187,
World War Two production, with finned 13in. barrel including built on 'Cutt's' compensator, tapered blade fore-sight, blued squared receiver stamped 'US MODEL OF 1928A1', the 'US' and 'A1' added later, together with the serial number and 'THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN CALIBRE 45 AUTOMATIC CARTRIDGE', adjustable elevating ladder rear-sight, the top of receiver marked 'TOMMY GUN' and stamped with the Auto Ordnance trademark, the left hand side of trigger-group with rotating safety and provision for selector (see notes below), detachable wood butt-stock, iron heel-plate with trapdoor for oil-bottle and side-mounted sling-swivel, wood finger-grooved pistol-grip and finger-grooved pistol-grip fore-end with side-mounted swivel, the whole retaining much original finish (faded on the receiver) COMPLETE WITH its green painted wooden transit box, the interior containing the gun and a 50-round drum magazine, 6 further stick magazines (one still in original wrapper), a webbing magazine pouch, a cleaning rod, various cleaning brushes, a canvas sling, spare splinter fore-end, manual and other sundry items

Other Notes: Please note: This gun is currently converted to semi-automatic only but has parts to convert back to fully automatic. The last two digits of the serial number have been altered or added to circumvent South African laws on possession of potentially fully automatic weapons. The original serial number was S-209913. The 'US' and 'A1' have also been added for the same reason
