for 1896, with octagonal rapid-taper 26in. blued barrel marked 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN, USA', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating ladder 'Africa' rear-sight with six additional folding leaves, plain receiver, the top-tang marked 'MODEL 1886', walnut straight-hand butt-stock with iron crescent heel-plate, seldom encountered double set-triggers, plain walnut fore-end with iron nose-cap, eyelets for the Winchester sling and full-length under-barrel magazine, retaining good traces of original finish.
