A .25-20 (WCF) LEVER-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE, MODEL '92 SPECIAL ORDER', serial no. 909203,
for 1921, with round, tapering 20in. blued barrel threaded at the muzzle for a 'Maxim' sound moderator (missing, keeper present) and marked 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN, USA PATENTED OCTOBER 14 1884', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain receiver with saddle ring to the left hand side, the top-tang marked 'MODEL 92 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK REG US PAT OFF & FGN', walnut straight-hand butt-stock with later wood extension, plain walnut fore-end with iron barrel-band and full-length under-barrel magazine factory made to accommodate the moderator by exchanging the usual muzzle-band with a conventional rifle type, the whole with traces of original finish.
