for 1854, with blued octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON', bead fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the hammer-nose, plain cylinder (one chamber blown in antiquity) with roll-engraved naval engagement scene (slight traces of finish), iron open frame marked 'COLTS PATENT' (traces of colour), iron grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut one-piece grip and hinged under-barrel rammer (some bruising and patches of pitting to cylinder and right hand side of barrel)
