for 1855, with blued octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON', bead fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the hammer-nose, plain cylinder with roll-engraved naval engagement scene (finish faded), iron open frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', blued iron grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut one-piece grip and hinged under-barrel rammer, good proportion of original finish remaining
