A RARE .44.40 (WIN) LEVER-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE, MODEL '92 TRAPPER', serial no. 518572,
for 1909, with special short 15in. tapering barrel, the side marked 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO, CONN USA. PATENTED OCTOBER 14 1884', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain receiver with saddle-ring to left hand side, top-tang marked 'MODEL 1892 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK', walnut straight-hand butt-stock with iron 'carbine' heel-plate, special short walnut fore-end with iron barrel-band , full-length under-barrel magazine and further barrel-band at muzzle, traces of original finish throughout with some external pitting to magazine tube.
