29 7/8in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels, broad raised rib with Boss & Co. name and address, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, top tang gold-inlaid '1' in an oval, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, Boss 1894 improved patent single trigger, best fine bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining much renewed colour-hardening and finish, 14 5/8in. boldy-figured (likely replacement) stock including 7/8in. leather covered recoil pad, (fore-end iron serial number restamped and appears to read 4218), weight 7lb. 4oz., in a lightweight brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was ordered in 1893 by a Victor J. Mitchell and that the subsequent rebarrelling was undertaken by Symes and Wright.
