A 34-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'COLLECTORS GUN', no visible serial number,
Belgian, late 19th, early 20th century, with false damascened 30 1/4in. browned barrels, the top-rib signed in gilt letters within a gilt cartouche 'DAMASCO', colour hardened breech and engraved top-tang, colour-hardened engraved back-action locks featuring hunting-dogs, carved beech swan-neck half-stock decorated at the wrist with a carving of a dogs head with inlet eyes, slightly raised cheek-piece, circular patch-box behind with brass shell-carved lid, blued iron heel-plate and trigger-guard, replacement wood rammer and fitted with sling-swivels
Other Notes: These diminutive little muzzle-loaders were often used in conjunction with dust-shot for the taking of song-birds and butterflies for collections, hence the name 'collectors gun'
