circa 1875, with tapering polished 27 1/2in. narrow blade false edged for the last 9 1/2in., central blind narrow fuller, the first 8 1/2in. featuring gilded arabesques on a blued ground with the motto 'SE IL COR TI MANCA' on the right and 'NON TI FIDAR DI ME' on the left hand side of blade translating as 'Don't trust in me, if you don't have the heart', crooked hardwood handle with pierced silver mount at the join and bag-shaped silver end-cap, TOGETHER WITH its plain hardwood scabbard with iron ferrule, 35 1/2in. overall, some shrinkage cracks to wood
