A RARE 'SLANT-TOP' PISTOL POWDER-FLASK,
circa 1850-60, with plain bag-shaped copper body with suspension loop to the base and unusual slanted screw-off safety top signed 'JAMES DIXON & SONS, SHEFFIELD' and adjustable spout marked from 2/8 to 4/8 drams (Riling 841)
Other Notes: These rare flasks are associated with London casings for Colt revolvers, the charge range of this example being most suited to an 1849 Pocket (see page 35 of 'COLT PERCUSSION PISTOLS' by James E Serven)
