A 20-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-SHOT HOLSTER-PISTOL WITH WHITE-METAL MOUNTS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
Continental circa 1770, with swamped 9in. barrel, applied fore-sight, carved sighting rib with tear-drop terminal extending for the first 2 3/4in, plain grooved top-tang with pointed tail, plain flat, slightly curved lockplate with pointed tail, hammer with raised carved floral detail, sliding safe behind the hammer, roller-bearing to the frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock with semi birds-head butt, relief floral carving around the top-tang, inlet silver wire scrolls along the back of butt and much of the underside furniture (some losses), white metal beaked butt-cap, pillar and shell trigger-guard, moulded sideplate and ramrod thimbles, horn fore-end tip and possible original horn-tipped ramrod (barrel brushed bright, old repairs to fore-end wood)
