A .455 SIX-SHOT SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'MKIII', serial no. 10237,
circa 1910, with 4in. barrel, integral blade fore-sight, holster-guides, blued fluted cylinder with narrow locking slots, stirrup barrel-catch, blued break-open frame, chequered hard-rubber birdshead grips, lanyard ring to heel, the backstrap stamped '7/01' (for 1901) over 'T.D. R.E.' (Territorial Division Royal Engineers), the whole retaining much original finish with slight staining mainly to barrel sides
