circa 1900, with blued 8in. barrel, the raised top-rib marked 'SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS. USA' and 'PAT'D APRIL 20. 75, FEB 20th & DEC 18. 77, MAY 14. 90' bracketing 'MODEL OF 91', pinned blade fore-sight, drift-adjustable rear-sight to the opening catch, break-open blued frame with the 'S&W' trademark, automatic ejector, colour-hardened hammer, oversize chequered hard-rubber grips (some age cracks) embossed with the 'S&W' trademark, blued trigger-guard bow and colour-hardened trigger, the whole retaining much original finish
