A .650 (REGULATION) FLINTLOCK SINGLE-SHOT SERVICE PISTOL SIGNED TOWER, no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with round tapering 9in. barrel, carved band and Tower proofs at breech, solid squared tang, flat borderline engraved lock signed 'TOWER' at the tail, crown engraved forwards of the hammer, plain walnut full-stock with bag-shaped grip, swollen pommel with brass cap, brass trigger-guard plate and bow signed 'GILLS' (rubbed) and captive iron stirrup ramrod, the exposed iron surfaces pitted and cleaned
