A 40-BORE FLINTLOCK POCKET-PISTOL, MODEL 'CANNON-BARRELLED QUEEN-ANNE', no visible serial number, ref no. 0397,
circa 1750, with strongly tapering multi-staged turn-off 1 7/8in. cannon barrel (frozen), the underside of lock signed 'BARBAR' together with London proofs and the barrel makers mark 'IB', top of breech engraved with a stylised 'fleur-de-lys', engraved top-tang, borderline engraved action, hammer and frizzen, bevel-edged and engraved frizzen-spring, walnut butt with swollen pommel carved around the top and bottom tangs and double roll-edged trigger-guard bow engraved with a star-burst, retaining its reference number identification tag from the Small Arms School Corps weapons collection
