first half of the 19th century, with 16in. triangular cross-section etched blade (traces of blue and gilt), bamboo scabbard with brass ferrule, bamboo hilt with white metal scroll engraved ferrule joining a horn handle carved in the form of a horses leg, iron nail decoration to the 'hoof' and possibly originally furnished with a horse-shoe (missing), 34 1/2in. overall
