circa 1870, with round, tapering 36in. blued barrel signed 'GEORGE GIBBS 29 CORN STREET BRISTOL' and 'METFORD'S PATENT 584', block with micro-adjustable tunnel fore-sight with interchangeable elements, squared patent colour-hardened breech with three short-ribs, plain top-tang with integral mount for a vernier sight and a hand-stop spur, plain colour-hardened lock signed 'GEORGE GIBBS', walnut straight-hand half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate, plain iron furniture, fore-end with rounded horn tip, fitted with an improvised sling mount to the barrel and no provision for ramrod COMPLETE WITH the original boxed set of auxilliary sights including elements for the micro-adjustable fore-sight and a vernier rear-sight with a selection of apertures, George Gibbs trade label to inside of lid
