A CASED 14-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with re-browned 30in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'W.R. PAPE NEWCASTLE ON TYNE', scroll engraved rib-end with white metal lines (one missing), scroll engraved top-tang, flat border and scroll engraved unsigned locks, chequered walnut half-stock with iron heel-plate and engraved trigger-guard bow (small losses to edge of fore-end wood), period under-barrel ramrod COMPLETE WITH a period mahogany storage case, compartmented and lined in blue velvet (faded to green), parchment 'Pape' trade-label inside of lid cut from another case and containing a shot and a powder flask
