A PATTERN 1852 PRUSSIAN CAVALRY SABRE,
circa 1865, with slightly curved, polished, fullered single-edged spear-point 33in. blade etched approximately one third along its length with a small panel on the right hand side 'YZERHOUWER' with a similar corresponding panel on the left side 'GEBR. VAN LEER, UTRECHT', makers mark at forte, iron half-basket hilt pierced forming three wide bars, plain iron back-strap with integral pommel and wire-bound sharkskin grip, complete with its iron service scabbard (hilt and scabbard stained)
