A 12-BORE 1894 PATENT ASSISTED-OPENING BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 08783,
30in. nitro barrels, beaded band engraving at the breech end, the rib with ornate scrollwork and gold-inlaid '2' at the breech and engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER. 151. NEW BOND ST. LONDON. PATENT EJECTOR.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, Lancaster patent action incorporating H.A.A. Thorn and W. Bodin patent ejector mechanism, patent no. 23,367 of 1st December 1894, diminutive slender toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with enamelled 'SAFE' detail, fully engraved with fine stylised leaf and vine motifs with beaded bordering, the underside with 'PATENT SAFETY', retaining some original colour-hardening and much renewed finish, 14 3/4in. well-figured stock, snap fore-end with ornate finial, engraved and gold-inlaid '2', weight 6lb. 10oz.
