circa 1865, with expertly re-browned 27 3/4 damascus barrels signed on the breeches 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS' and '22 COCKSPUR STREET LONDON', flat raised matted top-rib (traces of original signature), dove-tailed fore-sight, platinum lined standing notch rear-sight with three additional folding leaves, engraved fences and elongated top-tang, scroll engraved colour-hardened rounded action, colour-hardened border and scroll engraved back-action locks signed 'JOSH LANG', blued safety catches behind the scroll engraved dolphin headed hammers, figured walnut butt-stock chequered at the wrist, engraved trigger-guard tang with scrolled and chequered finger-rest, scroll engraved under-lever and chequered splinter fore-end with inlet horn tip, much original finish remaining except where noted and complete with eight turned brass cases
