for 1806 and converted from flintlock, with re-browned 30in. twist barrels, scroll engraved top-tang with sighting groove (one fence cracked), border engraved locks signed 'MANTON', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate with engraved long top-spur, trigger-guard tang engraved with a hunting-dog at rest, pineapple finial and ramrod throat, brass mounted mahogany ramrod, TOGETHER WITH a period mahogany storage case, lined in green baize with a John Manton parchment trade-label to the inside of lid and containing a powder-flask, shot-bandolier, charger and other sundry items
