PLAYFAIR, ABERDEEN 80-BORE PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT PEPPERBOX REVOLVER, no visible serial number, circa 1840, with blued fluted 3in. barrel-group, iron nipple-shield, scroll engraved rounded iron action signed on the left hand side 'C. PLAYFAIR, ABERDEEN', centrally mounted double-action only hammer, iron grip-frame, the back-strap with scroll engraving, finely chequered walnut grips, iron heel-plate and trigger-guard bow, the whole with surface corrosion over original finish
