probably private purchase and dated for 1859, with 31 1/2in. barrel (externally corroded), block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, Birmingham proofs, borderline engraved lock with engraved date and Queen's crown to tail (traces of colour), walnut three-quarter stock with iron furniture, original iron ramrod and bayonet lug mounted to the muzzle
