Provenance: Eugenio de-Giacomi (1852 - 1917) is especially known for his still life compositions, his first exhibition in his home town of Modena entitled 'Fruit and Still Life'.
He worked mostly by private commission for the local nobility and merchants in and around Modena, occasionally in the field of portraiture. In 1891 he accepted a post as professor at the prestigious Collegio San Carlo, a position he held for 17 years.
